The fact that Shadow held the lives of the people he loved in his hand, to Dean, meant that he could make Dean do anything he wanted. Dean was willing to do just about anything if it meant that someone else would be safe. He couldn’t bring himself to let their deaths be on his hands.
“Wh-where could they go that he couldn’t find them? He br-broke through the wards that a g-god made.”
He thought about it for a quiet moment, and then figured it out. “The way Shadow works, or the way he used to work, is that he can only visit places that he’s been before. It might not be the same now that he has more power, but that’s the only thing I can think of. The only problem is that I don’t know where he’s been…” This caused him to frown and go silent again, pondering it more.
Dean listened intently. He wasn’t so sure if that was the case anymore. As far as he knew, the creature had never been to Eros and his home before. It had still managed to breath through the barriers with little to no trouble at all.
“You mean he c-can only teleport places he hasn’t been,” Dean asked curiously.
“No, he can’t go anywhere he hasn’t been before. If he hasn’t been to Maine, he can’t just poof there. But that was when he had less control over his powers… I think he’s much more in control…” He pinched his brow tiredly and groaned. “I’m sorry, Dean. My ideas are bordering on incredibly lame. I’m so tired lately…”
In the cabinent. -he mumbles-…-sighs softly- You have no idea.Uh… -looks around awkwardly- Crowley? Bad time to catch up, I guess?
So… do you want to chat, or are you trying to find someone… I’ll leave if you have plans..
-nods and goes over, grabbing the first bottle there, a decade-old bottle of scotch, grinning and talking back to you- I think we need the good stuff, don’t you? -holds the bottle for you to see-
I’m not going to find anyone. -pinches the bridge of his nose- Just…stay.-sighs softly- You have no idea.Uh… -looks around awkwardly- Crowley? Bad time to catch up, I guess?
So… do you want to chat, or are you trying to find someone… I’ll leave if you have plans..
-looks over at you before heading into your kitchen- Okay. You’re pretty stressed mate. You got drink for two around here? -smiles reassuringly-

Dean’s eyes fell to the ground as he nodded. He wished that he was stronger, able to protect himself. What little power Dean did have was utterly useless against the creature… All it had done was increase his interest in him.
“I’m afraid of wh-what he’s going to make me do,” he murmured quietly, barely above a whisper.
He frowned and stood up. “He can’t make you do anything you don’t want to do. The only power he has is of holding the lives of the people you love in the balance. What you need to do is have them move some place that Shadow can’t find them… that’s the only thing I can think of…”

Dean listened intently to what he had to say. He knew what the other said to be true. It reminded him of the power Uriel had held over him. He could only imagine what Uriel would have been like if he had stayed in his world and been found. He shivered at the thought.
“Sort of,” Dean admitted. “Not b-badly this time though. He just hurt my wr-wrists,” he lifted them slightly as he spoke. There were small bruises forming where the creature had grabbed him.
He eyed the wrists with a dark, angry look. He had to put a stop to Shadow hurting people, but he was only human, weak and obsolete in the eyes of his fiancé’s monster. So he placed his hand on the boy’s shoulder and squeezed slightly. “I’m sorry he did that to you. And I’m glad you’re okay, relatively speaking. Now, I have to think of what to do when he gets back…”

“It wasn’t the c-cat’s fault. I wasn’t holding him right and he scratched me. I think it w-was the blood,” he mused. Dean let out a slightly content sound as the other man continued to rub his back. It felt quite nice.
“Not all of my fr-friends could protect themselves against him. I… I have to stay here or he’ll hurt them. Ma-maybe he’ll let me go if I’m good,” he tired to sound optimistic though it was obvious he was very upset.
“Being good is probably a good way to start. But the thing with a man in power, especially one like him, who is insane, is that you could make a deal with him, agree to do something for him, anything, in return for your freedom, and then in the end, he could deny your side to you. Men with all power are wont to let any control slip through their fingers…” He shifted a little and brought your shoulders upright so he can look the boy in the eyes. “Did he hurt you, Dean?”

Dean nodded his head in understanding. The gentle touches did wonders for him as he slowly began to relax. It was obvious he was still nervous, but now he looked less on the verge of tears.
“He was so n-nice and then the kitten scratched me and he t-turned back into that evil thing,” he sniffled softly.
“What? Eliot made Shadow turn back into his evil self?” That damn cat, knew he was some sort of demonic thing. He kept rubbing your back, slower and softer now as he can feel you relaxing into him. “Well, that’s an interesting turn in the story. I’m sorry this happened, Dean. It’s far from anything I would wish on anyone. Maybe some of my enemies, but certainly not you.” He frowned down at you.

Dean sniffled softly, calming as the other rubbed his back. He wasn’t too sure if he believed Jim—Shadow seemed like he could do whatever he wanted. Still, maybe Jim had some sort of control over him.
“Okay,” he murmured softly, curling into him, shaking slightly as he did so. It was obvious he was quite afraid.
He sighed and rubbed your back, his hand moving to your neck and up into your hair, running his fingers through it. “You don’t sound incredibly convinced, but no matter. Shadow will not hurt you, I can promise that to the best of my abilities, which honestly aren’t too sound at the moment. Because, to be even more honest with you, I can’t control Shadow in the least. He’ll keep hurting people unless someone finds a way to stop him…” He stopped himself there and went back to rubbing your back, hoping to make you feel calm and collected.

-lets out a low oomph as the wind is knocked out of him, holding his chest and wheezing a little from the force. But he tries to play it off and just nods appreciatively at the box- O-okay -coughs- Wh-what’s inside?
*Doesn’t notice your discomfort, too busy rummaging through the box, finally pulling something out, and holding it up to you in its outstretched hand* What’s this?
*Fidgets on the bed, grinning and waiting for your answer*
-stares at the object- Love, I actually have no idea. I can only guess where that ring goes, but the other parts… well, I guess we would have to be creative… -looks uneasily at you- What else could be in that box…?
It said on the package that it vibrates or something..*Lifts the ring, putting it through its fingers, and chuckling*But it’s cute, right? Kinda looks like a rabbit. *Fishes out another item from inside and hands it to you, still playing with the ring, jumping with a startled squeak, when it starts vibrating*
-stares into his hands, looking at the next toy, knowing exactly what it’s for- Oh god -blushes a little- Darling, these seem to have a trend… I’m sure when this is used, it makes one look like one has a rabbit’s tail… -looks up at you as you freak out- Relax. I’m sure most of these little toys have that ability -chuckles, but keeps blushing-
Dean flinched at the other man’s touch before collapsing against him, seeking comfort in the other’s presence. It took him several minutes to calm down enough to speak again.
“Sh-shadow—I tried to h-help him but then he t-turned into the evil s-side… He s-said if I left the apartment he would kill someone I loved. He said th-that I was his slave,” he whimpered.
He rubbed the poor kid’s back until he was okay to speak, then listens carefully, his brow furrowing in disgust. “Slave? Darling, he can’t make you his slave. You can stay here, stay in my daughter’s room while she’s not here, but god’s sake, he can’t make you a slave to him. That’s just ridiculous.” He wiped his finger along your cheek, warmly getting away the tears.

Don’t be sorry, love! -his hands press to your cheeks- I just thought you wanted tonight to be like it was before… it’s not that I don’t want to try everything and anything with you, but not tonight? -tilts his head a little- Okay? Don’t be upset, please don’t?
…..*Sighs and leans a bit into your hands* Can I at least show them so you could explain what they do? *Gives you a hopeful look*
-grins- Yeah, alright, that sounds fine, darling. -sits back, leaning on his hands, and watches you with a smile on his face-
*Give you a wide smile and quickly scrambles off your lap. Already halfway to the walk in closet, suddenly turns around sharply, and runs back. Tilting your head back, pecks you lightly on the lips* Thank You! *Beams down at you, and disappears in the closet*
-grins and blushes after you kiss him, then he moves back onto the bed and faces the closet, hearing you shift things around, wondering what in the world you could have brought back home. He lies on his side and watches the doorway-
Found them! *Yells happily, and comes running back, clutching a box tightly to its chest, and jumping on the bed, its back hitting your stomach, Shadow smiling at you widely, not realising that it might have just bruised you a bit*
